Additionally, qualities such as generosity, grace, gentleness, and a laid-back demeanor are admired by approximately 20% of males.
However, it is surprising to note that independent and sophisticated women do not seem to attract as much interest from men. This discrepancy is noteworthy and somewhat unexpected in modern dating culture.
Education Level: The Ideal Background
According to recent studies, women with a college diploma, particularly those from vocational schools, have a greater chance of securing a partner. About one-third of men express a preference for women with an associate degree as potential wives. Another third seeks partners with higher education levels, while a similar proportion is open to women from vocational or high school backgrounds. It appears that women with education below middle school may face challenges in finding a suitable match.
Men tend to prioritize educational compatibility when choosing a partner, often preferring women with similar or higher educational qualifications. Interestingly, men with lower educational backgrounds are more inclined to seek partners with higher degrees.
This highlights a crucial insight: for women aiming to find a good partner, investing in education is essential.
Preferred Careers: Stability Matters
Many men prefer their wives to have stable and respectable careers. This is especially true among higher-income individuals who recognize the value of stability even more. Police and civil servants are seen as ideal professions, while regular employees are regarded as slightly less desirable. The least favored professions involve self-employment; even self-employed men typically prefer their wives not to be in the same line of work.
It is evident that younger men aged 20-24 do not wish for their wives to take on the role of a homemaker. However, men over 30 with higher incomes often prefer traditional roles and support their wives' commitment to managing the household.
Interestingly, as men earn more, they seem less concerned about their wives' occupations. Yet, it is perplexing that higher-educated men, particularly older ones, show reluctance to be with women in managerial positions. This could suggest that some men retain a youthful reluctance to be 'tied down.'
Income: The Balance of Earnings
Men are indeed concerned about their wives' income. Only 2% of men are comfortable with significantly lower earnings from their wives. Additionally, 4% accept the idea of a wife without any income. A remarkable 47% of men prefer a scenario where both partners earn similarly. Interestingly, at least 15% of men in relationships are even comfortable with a wife earning more than they do.
For men earning below a certain threshold, having a partner with significantly lower income is less appealing. Among younger men aged 20-24, none express a desire for a non-earning wife. It is intriguing to note that among men with no income, more than half seek partners earning a comparable amount, exemplifying the adage "desire is not lower than reality."
This serves as a reminder to women: striving for financial independence is crucial. Aim to earn at least as much as your partner to ensure a stable and secure relationship.
